Sharita is a Marine Corps Veteran, she had savings built up, but when she lost her job due to an injury, savings didn't last.

LaShay is a 2nd Grade teacher, and a single Mom. Her son suffers from seizures, and they were kicked off Medicaid.
“I was making $35,000, and at the time medicaid said 'Oh, you make $20 over the limit.' I was like really? ...That's it? It sucks."
“I missed a whole week and a half of work, and I only had 6 [PTO] hours to cover it. So all that other time was just lost money. And I was like I gotta pay my rent, obviously, I gotta pay my rent. I cannot lose my apartment."

Charisse cares for her Mother, is a full-time paralegal, and has a part-time job to make ends meet.

Nina owns a catering business, and has a 6-year old. Her partner attends school full-time, leaving bills to her.
